Launch of the Kent and Medway Economic Renewal and Resilience Plan Monday 10 August 2020

The health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has rapidly become an economic crisis. Much economic activity in the UK has closed or been significantly reduced. We are only now beginning to see the first shoots of tentative economic renewal as lockdown eases.

While central government has responded with an unprecedented package of measures to protect jobs and businesses on a national scale, local stakeholders (drawn from across all the local councils, education sector, and private sector) have worked in collaboration to devise a series of actions that will help to stimulate Kent and Medway’s economic recovery. These actions form the basis of the Kent and Medway Economic Renewal and Resilience Plan, which was launched by KMEP on Monday 10 August.
