Business Advisory Board

What is BAB?

The Business Advisory Board (BAB) is a business-led forum which was established in January 2009, to provide a ‘sounding board’ with the business community to review and reflect on economic strategy. The BAB is made up of representatives from key sectors of the local economy. It meets bi-monthly and each meeting provides an insight from the business community in Kent and Medway on current trading conditions and experience of the local economy, on a sector by sector basis.

The key areas of activity for the members of the Business Advisory Board are:

  •  To articulate the current issues and experiences of the business community
constraints or opportunities and current trading conditions.
  • To offer views and intelligence on KMEP agenda items – e.g. contributing thoughts
towards Kent & Medway’s Economic Growth Strategy and policy review.
    etc.
  • To record the business issues that influence regeneration and development – collected
at each meeting in the form of a ‘review of current economic conditions’.
  • To represent and lobby for business to ensure the right resources are present in the
    county to ensure economic development.
